ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND Starring Fiona Fullerton, Peter Sellers, Sir Ralph Richardson, Spike Milligan, Dudley Moore & Michael Crawford. Directed by William Sterling.

This vastly underrated version of Carroll's classic ALICE'S ADVENTURES THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS was made in 1972 in the UK and features a stellar cast in the fabled roles. Fiona Fullerton stars as a beautiful, precocious Alice, bringing the role a decidely Lolita-ish quality which is subtle but in the vein of the recent THE GOLDEN COMPASS. Ms. Fullerton would later go on to be a Bond "girl" in A VIEW TO A KILL, as well as appear in THE BOOGIE MAN and SHAKA ZULU.

Michael Crawford (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway) stars as the White Rabbit and does a terrific job in a very convincing albeit cumbersome costume. Also starring are Sir Ralph Richardson as the hookah-smoking Catepillar (perfectly cast!), Peter Sellers as the March Hare, Spike Milligan (MONTY PYTHON'S THE LIFE OF BRIAN), Dudley Moore (10; ARTHUR) as Dormouse, and even more terrific character actors! Without a doubt, this ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND is the most star-studded verison of the classic ever made!

Still not impressed? How about a score by none other than John Barry (GOLDFINGER; YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE)? Or cinematography by the great Geoffrey Unsworth (2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY; SUPERMAN)? Gads, there's no wonder why this version of ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND is considered to be unjustly overlooked in the canon of actors and technicians who brought it to life! It's no WONDER it won 2 BAFTA (the British Oscars)!

CRITICAL FEEDBACK

"Twelve year-old FionaFullerton (she appeared thirteen years later as a Bond girl in A View to a Kill, would one believe) makes for a intelligent, nicelyself-possessed Alice as she goes through an amusing range of quizzically deadpan Oh dear’s... succeeds not too badly." -- SF, FANTASY & HORROR REVIEW

"A number of attractive details, a truly impressive cast, and a skilled composer." -- MOVIE RAPTURE
