BIGFOOT:
MAN OR BEAST? Starring Rene
Dahinden, John Green and Dr. Grover Krantz. Directed by
Lawrence Crowley.
Serious, well-researched documentary
examines the Bigfoot phenomenan from the 1970's perspective.
Robert Morgan is a believer, so the interviews range from
those who've encountered the wild man to those researchers
like Rene Dahinden, John Green and Dr. Grover Krantz --
the earliest of Sasquatch cryptozoologists -- who offer
(and even sometimes argue!) over the creature's methods
and man-like nature.
Tons of witnesses recount their first-hand
(or is that first-foot?) meeting with Bigfoot. And, in a
tense but funny sequence, Dahinden, Green, Krantz and Morgan
gather for an impromptu meeting in the woods, whereupon
they argue and discuss whether or not a living Sasquatch
should be shot in order to convince skeptics or leave the
human-like beast alone in its majestic wilderness stomping
grounds.
For any self-respecting crypto fan,
BIGFOOT: MAN OR BEAST? is the prototype
of so many of the Discovery Channel and other cable network
fare that emulate its matter-of-fact vs. sensationalistic
approach.
CRITICAL FEEDBACK
“Yes! Robert Morgan, baby! Looks
like Loomis from HALLOWEEN... Includes the Patterson film,
a mime describes what he thinks of it... for the most part
it's groovy guys in groovy clothes looking for Bigfoot.
" -- Doc Macready-3, IMBD
"This is the best Bigfoot documentary of them all.
I highly recommend it... two biologists, a microbiologist,
a botanist, an expert tracker, sociology researcher, two
Bigfoot researchers, an anthropologist, a naturalist, and
a Native American historian spend most of the summer of
1974 in the Mt. St. Helens area gathering evidence &
talking to people who claimed to have seen Bigfoot.” --Steven
Tichenell, IMDB
